THK Introduces Low Cost, High Efficiency Actuator Type VLA
Schaumburg, IL - (February 10, 2005) THK's new Type VLA
Actuator has fewer components and a lower overall cost, by
using a THK LM Guide for its base.
Long-term cost savings are also realized through the Type
VLA's incorporation of patented Caged Technology, a QZ Lubricator,
and electro-mechanical components.
The VLA uses THK's compact Type SRS LM Guide featuring patented
Caged Technology. This technology separates rolling elements
with a synthetic resin cage that retains grease, and reduces
maintenance costs. To ensure optimal lubrication within the
ball screw unit, THK incorporates its QZ Lubricator. The
introduction of the Type VLA replaces pneumatic cylinders
in many applications. The VLA's electro-mechanical components
offer improved energy efficiency, as well as cleaner and
quieter operation. Contamination from lubricants, audible
noise and damaging friction are greatly reduced.
While cost-efficiency is a key advantage to the Type VLA,
performance parameters too, should be noted - the VLA's high
speeds produce maximum operating efficiency.
The Type VLA is available in slide and cylinder types, and
is compatible with most popular AC or DC servomotor controller
packages.
Rated speeds on the Type VLA actuators range from 300 mm/s
to 600 mm/s; ball screw leads are from 6 mm to 12 mm.
