THK Widens Caged Roller Technology Possibilities With Wide
Type SRW LM Guide
Schaumburg, IL - (August 30, 2004) THK has added a Wide
Type LM Guide to its long list of performance-proven Caged
Technology products. The Type SRW Caged Roller LM Guide is
ultra-rigid, long-term maintenance free and smooth operating.
The rigidity of the Type SRW is further enhanced through
the use highly rigid rollers with an L/D of 1.5 or more.
The wide block Type SRW has a pitching moment (Mc) capacity
1.5 times that of the THK's Type SRG Caged Roller LM Guide.
Type SRW now offers rail widths from 70 to 150 mm.
THK's Caged Technology employs a synthetic resin cage with
a patented curvature that cradles each roller and separates
it from the next. The THK cage keeps the rollers uniformly
aligned so that skewing is prevented when entering the load
region of the block. Variations in rolling resistance are
reduced allowing for stable and smooth movement. The spaces
between the rolling elements retain grease and act as a lubrication
system for long-term maintenance-free operation. Other Caged
Technology benefits include low dust generation and reduced
wear.
The overwhelming success of THK's Caged Technology has propelled
the expansion of caged technology throughout the product
line. THK is also expanding their product offering to include
larger and smaller sizes as well as new materials and technology
to achieve superior results in the most demanding applications.
