THK's New Heavy Load Ball Screw Type HBN with Caged Technology
Outperforms Hydraulic Cylinders
Schaumburg, IL (August 16, 2002) - THK's new Heavy Load
Ball Screw Type HBN with Caged Technology features improved
energy savings, superior positioning accuracy, clean operation,
enhanced machine control and reduced maintenance. Because
of these features, the Type HBN outperforms hydraulic cylinders.
With the high thrust feeding speeds and durability of a
hydraulic cylinder, the Type HBN goes where no conventional
ball screw has ever gone before. The Type HBN is uniquely
designed for use in injection molding, pressing, blow molding
and die casting machines.
THK's revolutionary Caged Technology is the secret to the
Type HBN's success. This ball screw achieves a maximum of
130,000 DN.
THK's Caged Technology acts as a reservoir for lubricants,
eliminating the need for an external lubricating system.
Specific benefits include increased speed and accuracy of
motion, decreased noise levels, long-term, maintenance-free
operation and reduced sources of contamination.
To improve the rating load of their ball screw, THK optimized
the design of its internal structure. In heavy load durability
tests (118kN load, 48 mm stroke, 3.8m/min max. travel speed)
the Type HBN performed 1,000,000 cycles without any problems.
Test operations at high ambient temperatures found movements
to be identical at 20°C and 80°C temperatures.
The Type HBN is available in diameters from 32 to 63 mm
and leads from 10 to 20.
